Welcome to my website, CoppolaForSelectman.org. Since 2012, I have been a Selectman in the Town of Foxborough. My first and second terms were most interesting and much was accomplished, but there are still more issues for the Town to face and more things for us to accomplish together. Thus, I am seeking another 3-year term on the Board of Selectmen (BOS).
I have lived in Foxborough since 1979. My late husband, Mike, and his late brother, Larry, and I created a warehouse/distributorship business which began in West Roxbury (Boston) and then moved to Dedham and finally Foxborough. We moved because we grew in size and success, so I know what it means to work hard and to build something from the bottom up. To be closer to work, Mike and I moved along with the warehouse, living in Dedham, Sharon and Foxborough. But, when we moved to Foxborough, we knew that we were finally “home.” Mike and I so loved Foxborough that we convinced his brother and family, his parents and my parents to move here. For many, many years we all lived between 5 and 10 minutes away from each other, truly making Foxborough our hometown.
I have always fully participated in the Town of Foxborough’s civic government. I have voted in every election and attended every Town Meeting unless prevented by illness or other dire circumstance. I have worked on numerous political campaigns putting good and competent people on various boards and committees. I was an Advisory Committee Member for four years until elected as your State Representative in 2006. I believe in this Town, its people and its government.
Having lived in Foxborough since 1979, I have done my share of volunteering. As a member and officer of the Foxborough Newcomers Club, I helped to welcome new residents to the community and help them become involved and feel “at home” in Foxborough. I was a member and officer of the Foxborough Historical Society. During this time, the Society put on Antiques Shows and luncheons which provided funds for Foxborough Historical Commission projects. I was also an Associate Member of the Foxborough Historical Commission. I was an original founder of Foxborough Founders Day and remained on the committee for at least 8 years. I was a volunteer in the early days of Foxboro Cable Access running cameras and the office as well as being a member of the Cable Access Board. I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Doolittle Home. I am currently a member and officer of the Foxborough Republican Town Committee and a member of the “Legislative Committee” of Sturdy Hospital.
The people of Foxborough elected me in 2012 and again in 2015 because they know that I am sincere, hard-working and always have the best interests of the Town of Foxborough at heart. And, even though the people of Foxborough will not always agree with me on every issue and decision I make … and I don’t expect them to … they can be confident that the decisions that I make are based on knowledge, advice and investigation. The Town of Foxborough is too important for me to do otherwise because it is my home and truly my only agenda. My primary goal is to continue to serve the Town of Foxborough and maintain its reputation as “The Gem of Norfolk County.”
I thank the people who have already offered me their support and encouragement and I ask for your vote for Selectman on Monday, May 7th at the Ahern Middle School on Mechanic Street.
